An Architecturally Georgian/Contemporary designed two free standing (side by side) town houses that we built for one of our property developers on an elevated exposed block of land in Glen Waverley – City of Monash. When the project was completed, the homes looked like separated 2 storey houses. A 1.0 meter deep site cut was required throughout and the use of concrete sleeper retaining wall throughout which was incorporated within design of the landscape. The site work required concrete bored piers, blinded concrete and suspended concrete slabs due to the demolishing of the existing old dwelling. the project also required heavy steel structure to support the first floors. The stormwater system for the 2 homes was designed as an outfall drain and they were taken under the Council’s nature strip approximately 20 meters away. Quality inclusions and materials were used such as hardwood stained staircases, porcelain wall tiles up to ceilings, Porcelain floor tiles to wet areas, Engineering timber flooring to living areas and quality carpet to bedrooms. All cabinetry were gloss Vinyl throughout with upgraded stone bench tops. The project has added great value to the street and the neighbourhood.
